The Environmental Protection Suit is a low-power unassisted suit designed to solely offer environmental protections and is not designed for combat. It is fully space-capable and can survive explosive decompression as well as high pressure environments.

Atmospheric Support

The suit contains an oxygen reclamation system which processes carbon dioxide trapping the carbon and releasing the recombined diatomic oxygen molecule. The carbon is then resequenced as combined with the carbon filter system to maintain optimal filtering capabilities. A molecular resequencer is able to resequence materials by recombining atoms in different configurations to assist with life support. Water from ones breath is also collected by the suit which provides additional support for temperature control.

Vacuum Support

When in a hard vacuum the suit will provide recycled breathable air for up to 16 hours before it's carbon-filters need to be changed.

Hazardous Chemical / Biological Support

Carbon-based filtering along with the molecular resequencer allows the suit to filter out 99.975% of chemical contaminants as well as 99.429% of biological contaminants.

Pressure Support

The suit uses electro-static fibers composed of carbon nanotubes with metallic crystal cores. These fibers stretch or contract depending on electro-magnetic currents passed through the fiber cores. They react systematically to apply direct dermal pressure between 60.8 to 243 kPa.

Temperature Support

Temperature support ranges from -270.6 C to 915.2 C, using electromagnetic fields applied to the carbon fiber system to transmit heat to the body in cold temperatures and draw heat away from the body in hot temperatures. The system is not perfect, but robust enough to provide thermal protection at the extremes for 17.5 hours. The system also uses liquid water to assist in mediating temperatures, water collected from the atmospheric support system helps give the temperature support system a longer life span.

Radiation Support

While the suit has multiple layers which help guard against 2.9 Sv of radiation for up to 24.69 hours. Radiation protection beyond this point falls off quickly, protection from radiation at 4.9 Sv only last for an hour while exposure of 8 Sv only lasts 5 minutes before fatal exposure.
