Anika is a bag full of cats kind of crazy. She's highly unstable, the result of the mixing of a true demon forced into human form and an unwilling human-demon hybrid female, both were contained and trapped by powerful Divine Runes which trapped both creatures and helped the wizards manipulate the situation. The coupling took place over several days, and repeatedly. The end result was a pregnancy of 3/4 demon and 1/4 human, which created Anika.

The only way for which the United States Government has found to control her is through the Seal of Hedone, which grounds her psychic energy allowing her to make more rational decisions. He insanity comes from the psychic turbulence caused by her picking up on the infernal energy given off by her strong demon half.
