This powerful ring causes the wearer to be able to cross into the Vafilosna Plane at will and exit it where they wish. It also permits the wearer to to draw chaotic energy from the plane directly as magical entropy, which disrupts or explosively enhances existing magical forces. Magical entropy is the very nature of unpredictable and its effects are random, except in they almost always amplify and cause chaotic and unanticipated effects when released. The stone itself does not stay a consistent color inside, though it appears red from a distance.
The more entropy is drawn out of the Vafilosna, the more varied the effects become.
History
Legend says that powerful sorcerers would ride upon fallen stars streaking across all of space and time. When one such sorcerer fell to an alien world she had never seen before, she was in anguish upon seeing her star had broken into a million tiny crystals and flung all across the world she had landed on. She wished to go home terribly, and so fashioned this ring from one of the powerful crystals. Born out of the fallen star it has the power to transport a person across the stars and send her home.
Now knowing what was possible, the wisest of the wise upon this alien world worked hard and mastered the magical arts, one of the wonders they crafted was this ring. Based on the one they saw the traveller create to get home
