Marianne is a woman of few words and prone to anger. She has a way of knowing what other people are feeling about a situation, even prior to being recruited into the CIA and the subsequent genetic manipulation. The genetic manipulation has since increased her empathic senses. She tends to react to what she perceives even before it is confirmed or a person has a chance to explain, quite often she reacts to stress by provoking confrontation giving her a reputation as a stone cold bitch that will go after anyone and everyone. The saving grace there is that she is very often right about people's motives.
Special Abilities
She has been genetically spliced to give her additional abilities. For her this has manifested as a passive psionic ability to perceive and process the general psionic energy coming off of people and ambient around her.

Family
McKinnon was a top CIA operative, specializing in black-ops anywhere in the world with a particular talent for assassination, specialty with sniper rifles and other firearms. Her parents names were Robert and Jessica McKinnon, both deceased.
Genetic Experimentation
Experimental genetic manipulation began in early 2004 and was completely voluntary. Experimental protocols for genetic manipulation based on those conducted by US Navy in similar experiments. Genetic mutation of cells with the new material was accelerated through the use of advanced retro-viral manipulation.
Original DNA samples used were cloned and re-spliced from DNA sequences from Alessa Jones, Robert Alvarez, and Juan Markov.
Operational Notes
McKinnon showed major aptitude for covert operations, in particular with firearms. This was encouraged and specific training was given. An operating for experimental research was available in 2004. This detail was specifically geared to prepare an agent for deep cover and extended missions in Asia scheduled to start in 2006. McKinnon was asked to volunteer for the experimental operational readiness program.

During Cougar Strike she was partnered. Details are unknown but her partner was seen in a Chinese Emergency Room where his cover was blown. No outward cause could be found to explain his condition but his vital signs remained almost zero. The Chinese government has not disclosed what happened to the patient after this initial examination. He is presumed dead.
In 2007 McKinnon showed up at a safe house in India with no memory of self other than her emergency extraction code word. She was moved to CIA Headquarters and then to a secret medical facility off the coast of Maine. Where she remained until 2008 after recovering her memory. It was discovered that a new ability had emerged after she had been shot with an AK-47. She should have died. She remembers nothing after touching her partner and then subsequently waking up on the road in India.
At the end of 2008 she was transferred to secure military facility called Ad Undas for training.
Final Report Summary from 2009
In 2009 she was seen on the sniper range by the base weapons instructor when he was supervising training of new recruits nearby. She was never seen or heard from again. She is presumed dead. She has one remaining code word she may use for immediate extraction back to CIA Headquarters, the code word is Magenta Suicide.
Return in 2015
The Operative used her remaining code word to be extracted and returned to CIA HQ in May of 2015. It seems she suffered a severe psychotic break for unknown reasons, it is probable that after being exposed to some intense psionic field, the Operative found herself unable to function and this caused something similar to a fugue state and was unable to remember who she was, where she was supposed to be. Marianne ended up homeless in central Los Angeles for many years.
It is unknown what precipitated the return of her memories enough to call in to the CIA for extraction, medical staff theorize that the memories might have been triggered by some kind of sensory association within the city. She does clearly remember first wanting to contact the CIA after a new report about a bombing having happened in Bagdad. After that she became slowly more obsessed with contacting the CIA. Once she finally did, she blurted out the code word over the phone without knowing why. Within 24 hours she was extracted from LA and received intensive medical treatment.
As of November of 2016 she was returned to active duty.
