This technology is placed within the warp systems and impulse drive of a ship allowing it to modify the shape and residual energy signature of the warp drive system and impulse drive system. This also includes the ability to alter the exhaust from the impulse drive system or plasma trail of the warp drive using replicated trace elements.
The ship's computer can program specific profiles to emulate, or the system itself by default masks the signature entirely by adjusting to current spacial conditions. While tracking the ship is not impossible when this system is in use nor is it a full proof disguise, a detailed analysis would be required to reveal that the signature was modified.
