The Mercury Class is a frontal assault craft designed for covert surgical strikes. She is equipped with high a high powered warp drive system and augmented impulse drive system allowing the ship to maneuver at extreme velocities compared to other craft of similar size. This is coupled with the stealth abilities of the ship, designed to enter a system undetected, collect surveillance to prepare for a combat mission, and then execute said combat mission without the need for additional resources.

Power and Propulsion
The ships unique design uses a powerful matter/antimatter reactor core and an intelligent power routing system which diverts power to the highest priority system, as designated by the commanding officer, operations officer, or chief engineer at the time.
Stealth Capabilities
Due to the high power nature of the ships reactor core and warp drive, the energy signature modification system is capable of deploying the ships energy field to look like a ship of significantly higher size while not under cloak. This gives the ship much more flexibility when it comes to covert maneuvers involving hiding in plain sight.
Support Craft
The ship is equipped with a minimal aspect shuttle bay on the underside. She is equipped with a single Danube Class Runabout as well as two Type 6 Shuttle Craft.
