Clancy is the captain of the Dwend frigate known as the C.F.S. Irvyn. It is about 140 meter long by 30 meters wide and 70 meters tall. Dwend warships are rated by the amount of guns the ship has, a Frigate has 33 guns. Rail cannons are used as the main armament of Dwend ships. They take a similar amount of time to reload and recharge the capacitors as it takes a breech loaded cannon to reload. Although they are rail cannons in their use and function the fact that they are chimeric machines means they also deal magical damage. This means that it can serve to damage magical creatures and constructs as well as physical creatures and constructs. The cannons are 400mm in caliber but do not fire explosive rounds. Instead they fire soft but dense metal rounds that use the kinetic energy of the round to cause damage. The muzzle velocity of the shells is 20km/sec and have an effective range of 5 AU.

By using this the ship is able to achieve faster than light travel. The beneficial side effect is that only Dwend and enchanted others can use this method of travel. Because of the arcane nature of the drive there is a chance that when the coordinates are inputted incorrectly it could lead to the ship into a celestial object or even leave it in another galaxy. The process takes around an hour to complete. This means that multiple consecutive jumps are impossible for such a drive. When the drive is activated a tear in space appears before the ship then a swirling vortex of multicolored light draws it in. The vortex is described as a rainbow bridge by outside observers.

The Hieronymus Drive is the FTL drive used by the ships of the Colony Fleet Hyperion. The H drive uses strange monad particles to create rifts in spacetime then uses ana monad particles to bridge the two rifts with a temporary trod. By using this the ship is able to achieve faster than light travel. The beneficial side effect is that only Dwend and enchanted others can use this method of travel. The downside of this drive is that the reserve of monad particles has to be refilled after every jump. The process takes around an hour to complete. This means that multiple consecutive jumps are impossible for such a drive. When the drive is activated a tear in space appears before the ship then a swirling vortex of multicolored light draws it in. The vortex is described as a rainbow bridge by outside observers.
Dwend use molecular computers to do most of their computational needs, the computers however are not based on electricity but on mechanical components. Despite this these atomic scale analytical engines are capable of the advanced computational work needed to safely navigate a ship through three dimensions and for the automatic defense turrets. The Dwend use special radios on their ships to communicate across the vast distance of space. Using a similar process as what they have for FTL they are able to extend their broadcast range far beyond the speed of light. The final and most interesting thing about Dwend ships is that their ships are not airtight. A byproduct of the H drive is a distortion of reality that allows a bubble of breathable air to form around the ship regardless of conditions. Only when the core is destroyed does this bubble collapse.

He lived a somewhat sheltered life and this led to him being very naive and arrogant in the way he approaches situations. His self confidence also lends to him being a bit inspirational at times. He is also someone that seeks out new things to try out and new places to explore. His sense of adventure is not borne from a deep seated curiosity of the world but from a need to prove himself to his family.

Special Skills

  • The performance skill covers a broad range of artistic expression from acting to storytelling. Able to work an audience.
  • Has some skill in basic stealth techniques
  • Has a proficiency with the tools and techniques for lock-picking, hot-wiring cars, designing and deactivating burglar alarms
  • has good knowledge of Dwend lore.
  • Firearm training

Special Abilities

  • Meddles in the affairs of fate slightly, granting a little good luck to an ally, or a tiny bit of bad luck to the enemy.
  • Create a pure manifestation of one of the most basic elements: fire, water, earth, air, or wood and use it in combat.
  • Has an unnatural amount of stamina, can keep up an activity for far longer than what a human could.

Background

Born in one of the seed-ships of the Hyperion colony fleet, He was born to the noble line of Holmwood. A family known for their martial prowess and respected as old defenders of the Dwend Confederation. Clancy lived a life sheltered from the harder life that most Dwend have to deal with. At the behest of his parents his marriage to the daughter of another noble family. He was set up as the future husband of Iztaccihuatl of the Xochitl family. He really liked her even if she acted like a tomboy and was a at time very mean spirited. They both came to be very close and she would make him gifts while he would dance and sing for her. At the age of 18 he was given his own warship to command as all noble lineages had a duty to the fleet. As such he was going to be seeing his soon to be betrothed much less often. Since Dwend live such long lives arranged marriages do not usually happen until both are at or older than 25 years old. He was recently sent out to scout a new solar system for Hyperion to mine resources from.
