Background

Built on an alternate version of Earth in the midst of a global war, TX88 was a standard battle bot meant for infantry suppression. It saw combat in western europe where it distinguished itself from the other bots in its battalion by developing sapience. TX88’s human handler/commander lieutenant Adrian Hunt kept TX88’s sapience a secret for the duration of the war knowing that if it was discovered TX would have been immediately decommissioned. They developed a parent-child relationship as the war kept going. At the end of the war Adrian ordered TX88 to enter standby mode while it was in a field of flowers. He remained there undisturbed for 70 years.
