The Deirdre was built for the express purpose of military operations both covert and non. The vessel technically was built for Starfleet Intelligence, however the vessel fell of the radar of the flag officers in that department after being coopted for use by Section 31. The vessel is currently registered as being on detached duty with further information classified at the highest levels.
