In addition... He is also just a hair shy of being a compulsive gambler but tends to make insane bets when the chips are down. Rather than going double or nothing against a mob guy from Jersey City he instead agrees to do something completely insane to cancel out the debt before things get to bad. One such instance was agreeing to hang from a scaffolding off a bridge naked with a sign that invited traffic passing under the bridge to throw soda at him. At the time it was one of the hottest summer days of the year so during rush hour it wasn't as bad as when the mix of various drinks began to dry. This incident landed him with a short stay in jail and a mandatory psych evaluation when police where not very pleased with the display. He pays his debts even if he has to sell off most of his possessions and almost never gets into more debt than can be covered by such an action. As such, he tends to have one or two nice things and the rest is usually junk. | In addition... His basic personality type is a rather reckless and carefree type a personality. He generally rolls with the punches and only get slightly upset when things don't go his way. He has a slightly inflated ego and sense of himself most of the time but is able to get down to reality without an extraordinary amount of prodding. Laughter is his weapon of choice, he uses it to defuse situations and jibe at people usually in the same sentence if at all possible. He enjoys the over stereo-typed image of the Jersey culture he grew up in and uses that as a mask whenever possible - usually to comedic effect.
Background
He is known for being perfectly willing to cook just about anything. He doesn't usually do the skinning and cleaning himself, he prefers to get whatever meat it is already off a carcass before dealing with it, though his skill with doing it himself is alright, certainly not stellar but he can get by. More than that, he usually makes it taste pretty good if he is a reasonably well stocked chicken. His favorite TV show is "Chopped" on the Food Network because it generally shows people floundering to deal with the weird ass shit that he loves to cook. Generally speaking, if he can't find some other way to prepare it (or it is just too bad tasting / tough for anything else) he will make a stew. Instead of hiding the meat though, somehow, he usually makes it come out as a part of the dish not hidden away in the back.
