Arms and Armor

• CMC-400 Powered Combat Suit - his armour is designed for front line engagements. The basic version combines depleted uranium (80%) and titanium (20%) or neosteel. Inner side of the suite is filled with FLEXON Resin composites. The wearer is almost invincible by a small firearm. The battlesut is cca 210 cm tall and it´s weight is over a ton. It´s manufactured in different sizes and it´s fully optimalized for exposure to vacuum and provide NBC (nuclear/biological/chemical) shielding for operation in deep space and hostile environments. Trained marine is able to get in the suit in 3 minutes. The suit can be sealed and due to the recyclation it´s possible to survive in it for seven days.
  • The suit has it´s own life support, air filter, light compensation in visor, transmitter and CMC fusion reactor. Energy maintains appropriate environment inside the suite and at the same time makes movement easier. Servo motors provides marine with greater strength and speed. The suite is equipped with several spot lights (two below the visor and two on the shoulder). Boots have their own stabilization computers keeping them in straight situation and magnetic system enabling movement on structures in zero gravity environment. However the suite does not contain thrusters so movement in open space is hazardous. The average speed of a soldier in this suit is 26 km/h and maximum speed is cca 35 km/h. Further vital part of the suite is CMC "HAITE"(Head-to-toe Artifical Intelligence Tactical Engine) system.
  • The suit is equipped with Stimpacks. Features of recent versions are noise silencer and heat damper. There are also sensors and spare magazines in the shoulders. The armour is equipped with several safe mechanisms, that are able to seal damaged areas and keep the soldier alive even when he loses his hand.

• C-14 Impaler Gauss Rifle - a terran standard issue marine weapon of the Confederate and Dominion Marine Corps. It is very common in the Koprulu sector. It utilizes gauss-assisted technology to accelerate ferromagnetic projectiles at hypersonic speed through a process of magnetic induction.

Background

Mark was born in the slums of Korhal IV and never really had a chance to achieve his full potential as a person. His father left his mother once he realized he had knocked her up and so she had to raise him on her own. She got into prostitution to get money and by around 8 she had kicked Mark out of the house not wanting to have to care for him anymore. He wandered around for a few days before encountering a small time gang and asking them to take him in. As usual he was beaten up by the whole gang as part of his initiation but he endured and was welcomed in. In the gang he got into street fights and assaulted people to steal their money. As he grew up and saw some of the older gang members get killed he decided if he was to have a choice on how he died he would rather not die in the hellhole he was born in. As such when he was 18 he went to enlist in the Terran Marine Corps. To his surprise many of his friends and gang members also enlisted with him, having similar reasoning. They went through grueling boot camp together where only ten of them made it to be marines. They were out of training and into active duty when the Great War started and were subsequently sent there as their first combat operation. Surprisingly enough they all survived and became Dominion marines instead of Confederate marines. However when they are deployed in the brood war they end up loosing four, and another three from the Dominion war with the UED. After that, the now veteran Mark and his two friends remain in the marine core more for the money than for the Dominion. One year before the second great war one of his friends is killed by a hit and run attack from Raynor's Raiders. Mark himself was sent to the infirmary with a severe but recoverable injuries. Finally he was the only survivor of the Terran Battlecruiser the Tyrant, when it spliced into the Schatten system. He was able to make it to an escape pod just in time but his last remaining friend died when the Battlecruiser exploded.
