Background

Katina was born in Stalingrad, a descendant of two veterans of the second patriotic war. She grew up with two younger sisters and while her sisters showed great mental capacity even psionic abilities, she showed none. Despite the protest of her parents she joined the red army were she was put in the 31st Rifle Regiment. She was trained and gain rank there eventually she was thrust into combat as the Soviet Union attacked the allies. She helped in the initial invasion though by the time the soviets reached Britain she was transferred to the Soviet eastern border. She had assumed this was the doing of her sisters pulling strings with their clout as military scientists. She was also promoted to the 15th Mechanized Infantry where she became a Tesla Trooper and trained in the relativity peaceful eastern border as the rest of the red army won great victories against the allies. A few months after becoming a Tesla Trooper the Empire of the Rising Sun orchestrated a massive surprise attack on the eastern border. She splices in during the attack.

Tesla Powered Armor

The Tesla trooper is armed with a pair of Tesla guns built directly into the arms of their armour, which are effective against both infantry and vehicles. However, its slow rate of fire means that it is best used as an anti-tank weapon, as faster vehicles and infantry can simply out run the Tesla troopers. The Tesla guns fire an electric arc that can vaporize infantry or melt a hole through many inches of steel. Katina's Tesla Armor is unit 9729.

In addition to the Tesla guns, Tesla Troopers can also create an Electromagnetic pulse around themselves, disrupting the internal electronics of all enemy vehicles in its vicinity. However, this field can only be maintained if the Troopers stay stationary, and the Tesla guns cannot be fired when the EM pulse is charging.

Tesla troopers are immune to being crushed by tanks because of their bulk and height, except large units (Apocalypse Tank etc.). Usually a suit of Tesla Powered Armor weights 10 tons and is 4 meters tall. Foolish commanders fighting against the Union that have sent out tank divisions without anti-infantry support have often witnessed their expensive vehicles fried to a crisp by small divisions of these walking tanks.

The armor is powered by a specially designed Tesla power coil that converts cosmic rays into usable energy. The rate of energy conversion is constant and cannot be increased or decreased. This is another reason for the slow movement speed and rate of fire. In addition extra power not used is rerouted to create and maintain an EM field around the suit.
