He was protected heavily by kaito and rarely allowed to leave and explore the world on his own. That combined with watching his father become guardian of the universe made him grow very restless. He has a strong wanderlust that is driven by confidence and a need to be someone other than Kaito’s firstborn.
Born to Kaito and Sasha Senju, Emiya was the only one of his clutch named by Kaito. He grew along with his brothers and sisters pretty much normally until around six years old when the rampaging and envious Sin of Lust incinerated his mother and siblings.
