Background
Thadd was born the son of the disgraced thaumaturge Julianus. He unfortunately was born after the Golden Hind incident so he grew up a commoner. Despite his grades and academic intelligence he still had to struggle every step of the way when trying to get better education than what his caste asked for. Just like his father in his younger years Thad was extremely tenacious. For years he toiled away as an assistant and learned how to be more charismatic for the sole purpose of asking for a sponsorship. Normally his family would be able to sponsor him but since his family was stripped of their noble rights and name he was forced to find some other family to sponsor him. That is when he found the Holmwood family. In return for the sponsorship he would have to serve in the Dwend navy as Thaumaturge for their newborn son's soon to be ship. He agreed and started his work now with a sponsor. after a few decades the holmwood son was of age to enter the military and he was called up. Having already formed a friendship with Clancy it meant things were mostly relaxed between the two despite the difference in power dynamics.
