Star Trek is an American science fiction franchises beginning in the late 1960's with the Original Series and still going on today. It has spawned multiple movies, TV shows, books, comics, and other media. It is one of the best known science fiction icons in the world.

I like to say that the canvas that I've painted my stories on is one of Star Trek. By far the most elements that form the basis of my stories have come from here. The space, organizations, political climate, ship designs, and culture have largely started with Star Trek. It is painted with a decidedly darker brush though and leans more toward the darker choices seen in Deep Space 9 and Voyager. I've pulled away from the utopia painted by Gene Roddenberry originally and augmented it to be darker and more troubled.
