Server Ad Descriptions: Difference between revisions

For anyone wanting to place an ad for our server somewhere, here are some useful descriptions at various lengths.

Long

We are an FFRP (Free Form Role Play) server which runs 3 different settings, a Science Fiction, a Modern Horror / Fantasy, and a Medieval Fantasy. Each setting has its own feel but they are all interconnected with the idea that the server has something for everyone. We also have web services such as a forum and a wiki to support game play (no more searching for pinned posted when you want to look something up). Our science fiction area is loosely based on Star Trek with other areas of inspiration, though intended to be a much darker place than traditional Trek is. For modern fantasy we took inspiration from World of Darkness, which is of course sufficiently dark already. Finally our fantasy setting is loosely based on a a d20 / Dungeons and Dragons kind of vibe in a custom world. Our main goal is to write and produce stories that people enjoy both watching unfold in role play and participate in, toward that end we intend to be a safe place for nearly any ideas that a person wants to put forth. The ideals are still alive in the hearts and minds of many but applied unfairly the farther from the core Federation worlds one gets. The galaxy is an unfair place though, and many people have fallen through the cracks of democracy.  An unknown force only known as Onyx works to undermine the fabric of society through selective use of time travel. Their purpose is unknown and though the Federation knows of them, they cross boarders and a new organization has grown out of the need to combat this threat. -A realm of knights, dragons, wizards, elves, and more. Set in the village of [[Whiteridge]] on the edge of the [[Erast Forest]] in the [[Kingdom of Thaentis]] on the world of [[Elder Soteria]].  Within the small village the road to the kingdom proper passes through the town. In this small town the changing world swims around them as a period of prosperity is slowly coming to an end. The prophecies of [[The Old Gods]] say that one day a thousand years ago, a young man who was truly old and his team of heroes rid the world of the evil Emperor and freed the world from him.  Prophecies, however, say that the peace is coming to an end.  Even so, scholars feel that the prophecies are nonsense, newly discovered science has begun to explain the world away and some are beginning to agree that the old ways are no longer needed. That their Gods and Goddesses are dead and gone. Within the small village of Witheridge, however, time stands still and the old ways are still alive and well. The Gods and Goddesses provide crops, game to hunt, and the sun and moon continue their endless cycles. For them, their world hardly goes beyond the forest while people traveling the road stay at the [[Hearts Refuge Inn]] and bring gossip and news from the outside to be talked over dinners and at breakfast but never more than a few idle words or the occasional heated debate.
