Dimmvidir

This is the realm of shadows and darkness. Not so far away from the material planes to prohibit humans and other similar life from existing here, it is a harsh place where such luxuries as light and hope. It is unclear how a person ends up living in this realm exactly but it is known that after one dies they may end up in this form of purgatory, if their soul is not so corrupted that it does not pass into the Severed Realm directly it can become trapped here instead. Such souls are somewhere between the people they once were and the demons they may become.

Within the Shadow Realm there is no light except for that which comes from the heated fires powered by the corruption of the Severed Realm, flows of intense molten rock flow and reflect their red hues off of the perpetual low brown-grey cloud cover. Here is where many consider an earthly Hell to be, rather than the true corruption of pure demons in the Severed Realm this place is more tethered to the material plane and fits the part better for human minds to conceive of. Living here is difficult, but possible, although unlike the perpetual chaos and anarchy of its neighbor, there is said to be a demon which rules over this place forcing order out of the chaos.
