The war left them destitute, unable to provide for themselves, let alone their young son. Faced with the impossible decision, they abandoned five-year-old Torus at a local orphanage, hoping he might have a better chance at life.

			The orphanage, however, was far from a sanctuary. Torus's early years were marked by relentless hardship. He was bullied mercilessly by the older children, who saw in him an easy target for their frustrations. The orphanage staff, rather than protecting him, added to his torment. They forced him into grueling labor, treating him more as a servant than a child under their care.

			As Torus grew, he began to experience strange sensations—whispers of something greater within him. His latent Force sensitivity began to manifest in disturbing ways, bringing him horrifying visions of death and destruction. These visions, coupled with the constant abuse, pushed Torus to the brink of madness.

			By the time he turned fifteen, the pain, fear, and anger that had been simmering inside him for years finally erupted. In a moment of blind rage, Torus lashed out against those who had tormented him for so long. His anger fueled his burgeoning connection to the Dark Side of the Force. He severely injured many of his tormentors and ended the lives of a few who had caused him the most suffering. The orphanage was left in chaos, the halls echoing with the aftermath of his violent outburst.

			This display of raw power did not go unnoticed. The dark energy that radiated from Torus attracted the attention of Kelem, an Inquisitor of the Galactic Empire. Sensing the boy's potential and the depth of his anger, Kelem sought him out. Rather than arresting or executing the young Force-sensitive, Kelem saw an opportunity to mold Torus into a weapon for the Empire. He offered Torus a choice: join him and embrace the power of the Dark Side, or face the wrath of the Empire.

			Seeing no other path forward, Torus accepted Kelem's offer. The Inquisitor became both a mentor and a master to him, teaching Torus how to harness his anger and fear, turning them into tools of power. For three years, Torus trained under Kelem's harsh guidance, growing stronger and more proficient in the ways of the Dark Side.

			However, the very qualities that made Torus a promising apprentice—his fierce independence and deep-seated resentment—also made him a dangerous student. As his power grew, so did his desire to control his own destiny. Torus began to question the Empire’s authority and Kelem’s intentions, realizing that he was being shaped into yet another tool of oppression, just as he had been at the orphanage.

			During a mission on a distant, lawless world, Torus saw his chance to break free. Rather than confronting Kelem directly, Torus used his cunning and the Force to evade his master's watchful eye. In a daring escape, he commandeered an Imperial shuttle and disappeared into the shadows of the galaxy, leaving his former life behind.

			He would [[splice]] into Tempus space not long after his escape and would be escorted to [[Nimbus Station\|Nimbus station]] where he attracted the attention of another force user. Tobias Angelos was a Grey Jedi with a strong connection to the force and he picked up on the dark energy emanating from Torus. Tobias saw in him a soul teetering on the edge of destruction—one that could either be consumed by the Dark Side or be guided towards a more balanced existence.

			Their meeting was inevitable, and it was far from peaceful. Torus, driven by his anger and mistrust, saw Tobias as just another threat to his freedom. The two clashed in a fierce duel, with Torus unleashing all the fury and power he had cultivated over the years. But Tobias, with his mastery of both the Light and Dark sides, proved to be the stronger. He defeated Torus, not with overwhelming force, but with a calm and controlled strength that left the younger man both humbled and awed.

			Rather than killing him, Tobias extended an offer much like the one Kelem had years before—but this time, it was different. Tobias offered to teach Torus not just how to harness his power, but how to find balance within himself. Torus, weary of running and searching for a purpose beyond mere survival, accepted.
			Under Tobias’s guidance, Torus began to explore a different understanding of the Force. Tobias was a patient and wise mentor, showing Torus the potential within him to be more than just a weapon of rage. Over time, the relationship between the two deepened. What began as a master-student bond gradually evolved into something more profound. Tobias became a father figure to Torus, offering him the stability and care that he had been denied throughout his life.
			For the first time, Torus found a semblance of peace. He was introduced to the Angelos family and among them Torus found a community that accepted him, scars and all.

			But this newfound family and the peace he had discovered would not last. One day, without warning, Tobias and most of the Angelos family vanished. They left behind no trace, no explanation—only silence. The disappearance struck Torus hard, reopening old wounds of abandonment and loss. Once again, he found himself alone, but this time with the haunting question of what had happened to the only family he had ever known.
