She sometimes spent time designing things and modifying things at times, she took quickly to the use of polearms in combat. When she just turned 12 years old, Banished pirates raided her home, killing multiple Sangheili, including her parents, the Banished then took her captive as a servant, there were plans for her use as she grew older, her slight knowledge in design and technologies aided her in her work, and allowed her to work quietly on one of the Banished's newly captured phantoms. She later stole the phantom to get off planet, she attempted to take others with her, the ship was chased receiving damage, only to later be taken through time and space to a new world.
