The type of energy and shape of the energy wave suggested a temporal and possible a cross dimensional element to the event. Since the Nekkar system is within [[Federation]] space, they sent their own team via the [[USS T'Kumbra]] to investigate. Inside the atmosphere of the 3rd planet (as gas giant) several ring shaped objects as well as a large but badly damaged space vessel were recovered.
