Jeremy is a bit wacky, although to some that may be putting it mildly. He enjoys laughter and explosions. He often is slow to trust new people brought under his command but should they gain his trust He'll protect and fight for them. He likes to use pretty unconventional methods when it comes to fighting. He manages to be crazy enough to make things work.

== Background ==
Born in the outer colonies among farms and hard work, he enjoyed a good laugh every now and again and the occasional good fight. He grew up during a time of a lot of unrest among people, and eventually a group of insurrectionists attempted to capture his colony, they claimed that they were liberating them when in reality they were forcing them to give of their food and supplies all for 'protection.' Eventually enough was enough and at 18 years old, took what few firearms they could and rounded up a few willing to fight and using a bit of unconventional warfare, created chaos and explosions for the insurrectionist forces. The insurrectionists were so focused on hunting him and his little rag tag team down that they failed to notice a team of UNSC ODSTs landing, and preparing the way for marines. There was a fire fight, where his team had been dug in and were holding off a large groups of hostile humans using both weapons and ammo they both had and stole, as well as improvised explosives made using items collected from the farms. They held out for quite some time, before the UNSC arrived and surrounded the little firefight, only to discover that the people the insurrectionists were fighting, were a bunch of teenagers, lead by Jeremy Awkland. Soon after He joined the UNSC and went to Reach to receive at first standard training, and then training to become an ODST.

His first official mission as an ODST he was assigned to the 220th ODST squad known as the Gravehoppers. There he participated in numerous strikes both against insurrectionists and against Covenant supply depots. He quickly rose to a Lieutenant and while being considered somewhat unstable by common standards, his unconventional methods had results.

During his work with the Gravehoppers He ended up losing his right eye in a hand to hand engagement, that left a scar over that side of his face. This eye was later replaced with a cybernetic eye, which gave him great directional awareness

He was then assigned to the 212th ODSTs where he participated in many precision strikes against the Covenant. It was while in the 212th that he discovered his love for heavy weapons and his affinity for explosives and began specializing in the use of such equipment.

During his work with the 212th he fought a lot of covenant, and this lead him to lose his left arm in combat with a creature later identified as a Hunter. He survived and upon getting back to base, was given a robotic arm, although the arm has it's problems.

After his work with the 212th He was assigned to Red Squadron, an ODST team of like minded people, as the team's captain and leader. They became an one of a kind unit, a bunch of crazies put together with the unique habit for not only unconventional ways of handling things, but also bringing about unexpected results.

Also known as the Mad Hatters, (or Mad ODSTs depending on who you ask) Red Squad fought in various conflicts where the Covenant were, They participated in the battle at Reach, the conflict on Halo, and a few other conflicts before and after.
