His family had an unbroken tradition of Sailors, James broke the tradition by signing for the United States Air Force, passing Combat Control School he graduated as a Combat Controller being moved into a Special Tactics Squadron. 	Deployed after the initial invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan he was commended for 14 years of service in and out of the Hindu Kush and Western Iraq, being transferred to the 24th STS after participating in multiple Combat Operations. His tenure in the 24th Squadron involved multiple missions with JSOC Special Mission Units eventually integrating as an Air Force liaison with the Army’s Combat Application Group.		Deployed after the initial invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan he was commended for 12 years of service in and out of the Hindu Kush and Western Iraq, being transferred to the 24th STS after participating in multiple Combat Operations.
