== Background ==
Apex's neural network was grown and devised by researches on [[Trocara]]. His original programming and skill set were designed for civilian service in the Department of Diplomatic Services (DDS) of the Serenity Concord. As such he was programmed with the requisite skill set for that career. After a year in the DDS, Apex wanted to do something else. He still wanted to pursue a career in public service but opted to join [[Solas Tempus]] as part of their accelerated program for AI's. within 2 years he had made Lt. Commander and was appointed to be the [[Master Systems AI]] of Prism Terminal, a [[Hermod Outpost]] on the edge of Concord space.
